Each year, more than 1,000 dogs, cats, and other animals come through the doors of the Yonkers Animal Shelter.  While the situations that bring them vary, one thing is the same: all of them desperately want and need a forever home.

Building Hope, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to enhancing the lives and improving the adoptability of animals at the Yonkers Animal Shelter.  Since 2008, Building Hope has worked closely with the City of Yonkers to raise money for a new facility that will be more functional and comfortable for the animals, some of whom, like Glenda pictured here, wait for many months to be adopted.

As you consider your charitable donations for the year, we ask you to please give to Building Hope.  If you have given in the past, we sincerely thank you and ask you to continue supporting Building Hope’s efforts to raise money for the new Yonkers Animal Shelter.  We have accomplished so much since plans for the new shelter were first announced, but there is still much to be done to meet our fundraising goal and make the new shelter a reality.  Your support will improve the lives of animals in Yonkers and help ensure that every homeless pet finds its forever home.
