To the workers & prospective animal adopters at the Yonkers Animal Shelter:

I would like to take the time to thank you for happiness you have brought to mine and my wife’s life.

After suffering from a heart attack and recovering at home after a lengthy stay at the hospital here in the Hampton’s on Long Island, my doctor insisted that I walk every day to get back in shape.

Well just the thought of walking was unbearable to me !!!!

But I also knew he was right and I had to do what was right for my health.

I decided to get a dog so I would be encourage to walk.

I went to all the pet shops and breeders and looked and looked for a dog that would be my best friend and I would be his.

I was searching the Internet when I saw CAESAR.
I clicked on the link for his info and was surprised to see that there was a video clip about this dog.

He was being shown by a worker named Marcos. I watched the video clip and listened to every word he had to say about this dog. (And the entire time the dog sat there as calm as could be.)

I e-mailed the woman who placed the ad (Leslie) and we started talking about CAESAR..

When the conversation was over I knew I had found my best friend. We set up a time to meet and I filled out the adoption application and after being carefully screened on how I would handle the dog in different situations I was approved to take CAESAR home back here to the Hampton’s on Long Island.

The moral of this story is, you should never own a pet if you are not going to commit to that pet for his or her lifetime.
And with so many pets that are available at your local animal shelter, why would you want to waste your money on a pet shop when you can find happiness in your local animal shelter like I did.
My dog knows how to sit, heel, give paw, give kiss, bark when a stranger comes to the door and takes treats out of my granddaughter’s hands as gentle as a lamb.

Can you buy a dog from the pet shop who comes as gentle?????

I would like to send out very special thanks for everyone who spent so much of their time helping these animals find a safe and loving home.
I now have a new found respect for every one of you.
